History

Our story starts way back, in 2007

A concerned and visionary Ethiopian citizen, Sr. Asayech Yirga in2007, founded Tikuret Lesetoch Ena Lehitsanat Mahiber (TLLM). Sr. Asayech is a senior nurse who has been supporting orphan children from her family budget through the provision of food, clothes and other necessary supplies prior to the legal establishment of the organization. Following the formal establishment and legal certification of TLLM with the Ministry of Justice in 2007, she continued making utmost efforts in providing support for poorest children and women. Subsequent to the proclamation of Charities and Societies law, TLLM has successfully registered with Federal Charities and Societies Agency fulfilling the necessary requirements with certificate of registration number 0205. As per the legal framework of Federal Charities and Societies proclamation, TLLM has currently renewed its certificate and license.
TLLM focuses on poor and vulnerable women and children. The association strives to see children and women in Ethiopia leading prosperous life.  Towards this end, it has been making effort to address the social, health, education and economic needs of destitute women and children under difficult circumstances.  

TLLM has been implementing different program components in Hawassa, Yirgalem, Shebedino, Dara, Dale and Chuko woredas of Sidama Zone of South Ethiopia People, Nations and Nationalities Region. In addition, there was General STD & HIV & AIDS Alleviation project in Bonga Felege Selam, Road Upgrading and woreda 01 and 02 of Nifas-silk Lafto Sub-city in Addis Ababa city administration, Child Care program at Sebeta Wolete in Oromia Regional State. Due to shortage of budget those projects have been Phase out. Currently, TLLM supports 13 Special Need children and 9 OVC at the Addis Ababa Child Care Center in addition to the outreach beneficiaries. 

Achievements

  • First special needs center in Ethiopia Acacia special needs center
  • Supported 12,000 mothers and children in Hawassa, Bonga, Welete and Addis Ababa
  • Supporting and Raising abandoned children (19 Children) currently
  • Giving community support for mothers with special needs children
